Bridge Under Construction Collapses in China

(MENAFN) In Yancheng city, located in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu, "two people were killed and three others remain missing" following the collapse of a bridge still under construction, according to a news agency, which cited local authorities on Tuesday.

The incident took place on Monday when a section of the incomplete bridge unexpectedly gave way.

Emergency personnel were promptly deployed to the scene, and search-and-rescue efforts persisted throughout the night.

Authorities have initiated an inquiry to ascertain the reasons behind the bridge's failure.
